Herron Classical Schools | Administration Building

This stately mansion on North Meridian Street has been an office for longer than it was a family home. For over fifty years, it was the home of Merchant's Insurance and they added two additions at the rear in the 1950s and 1960s. When Herron Classical Schools acquired the property, the building required minor reconfigurations and renovation to best suit their needs. ARCHtrio worked with them to restore and maintain the historic character in the original house. Fortunately the building retained much of its original character, including wood windows, trim, and tile work. New finishes and lighting were carefully selected to harmonize with the historic building, reflecting its Arts and Crafts design.
